About one to three speed boats (vedette in French) leave daily in the morning. They start early in Obock. They wait in Djibouti City until they got their load (can be several hours) and leave somewhen between 6:00 and 9:00 There is place for maybe ten passengers.
Try to get support to take the boat, because else you could fail easily. Be there early (0.5 - 1 hour before guessed leaving time). Ask for the list (could be at the round about or at the boat) and inscribe as soon as you get it. Or put your luggage in the boat when they show you to, whatever is first. Put on sun cream if you are not local. Be aware that that the 1 hour journey can be quite bumpy and wet.
