This is a normal ASDP ferry, however with a sometimes tricky schedule. Long time ago it was running on an even/uneven day schedule, but nowadays (2020) it seems to have evolved to a fixed day per week schedule (Monday and Thursday from Gorontalo, Sunday and Wednesday seem to be the most sure days). Try to get hold of a recent schedule from https://www.facebook.com/profile/100070991233947/search/?q=jadwal for example - the asdp website (https://www.asdp.id) gives outdated schedules.

On the long distance (night) ferries there is always the choice between VIP (AC, few people), business and ekonomi (fan, lots of people) - the price above is for ekonomi, VIP will be more expensive.

Payment seems to be now cashless (2022), at least at the Gorontalo side - we could still pay cash in Nov 2021 in Pagimana. The cashless payment is complicated: you need to pay online via transfer (indonesian bank only) or via (indonesian) flashcard (BNI, BRI, Mandiri, ...) The latter you can buy and top up in any Indomaret/Alfamart. An alternative option is to go buy the ticket in the nearest Indomaret/Alfamart and you can pay cash there (at a premium of course). With the payment slip you can enter the port where this paper will be changed to a ticket, with which you can board the ferry.
