There are some commercial operators (KM Uki Raya 4/23, KM Aksar Saputra 09) which sail all the way from Manado to Sula islands over Ternate and Sanana. The journey typically takes 3.5-4 days, and has sometimes plenty of waiting time in the ports it is passing. Not really recommended for the comfort, but the frequency and travel speed is higher than with Pelni. Schedules departing from:
- Ternate to Sanana: Fri/Sun 4-5pm
- Sanana to Pasipa (and further): Sat/Mon morning
- Pasipa to Sanana: Mon/Tue
- Sanana to Ternate: Mon/Tue afternoon
- Ternate to Manado: Tue/Wed afternoon

Basic travel are bunk beds with usually AC on that deck; there are normally also rooms to be rent (2-4 people) at a premium.
